This is something that really should have been caught before now. If we needed to have "The Bad Girls of Erotica" on the cover, that was on us to tell Alexa's team. Alexa, an easy fix might be adding that to the corner. Instead of "An Erotic Anthology," we can reduce the size of the text and make it "An Erotic Anthology from The Bad Girls of Erotica." Does that work? I'm just waiting for my lead designer to get back to me (she's the one with the files). I've already messaged her to add "The Bad Girls of Erotica" to the cover somewhere, so if she comes back with a placement we don't like I'll just get her to change it to something we do.

Raylene told me a couple of hours ago that all your names had been linked to it, but I think they're waiting for the group name to be added to the cover before they'll approve it.

Does that work? Yes and no because it doesn't say Bad Girls of Erotica in the title. The title is MY Naughty Valentine with our five names there. BGOE is not in the title, but our names are so linking it to our individual accounts should not be an issue. But is so we have to comply, but I just want to point out SW is getting awfully full of themselves and Raylene is a major bitch to deal with most of the time

In order to "brand" yourselves as The Bad Girls of Erotica, it has to be on the cover. Moira did this automatically, so I didn't even think about it...and I've been so busy with many other projects that I didn't even look at your Fiverr cover until it was finished. So it never occurred to me.
Some sites won't accept the group name even if it is inside the book and on the cover...Amazon is a prime example. But most of the rest don't care; they'll accept it as another author name without question. Smashwords is the only one who, as Laura pointed out, gets pissy about making everything match precisely. While my perfectionist soul might rejoice that someone, somewhere, is actually doing their job properly, it annoys me on a practical level, especially taken with their other unsavory habits.
Laura, it doesn't need to say "By the Bad Girls of Erotica" on the title page; it does say "© Copyright 2018 - The Bad Girls of Erotica" That's all Smashwords needs for name matching. So if the cover can be made to match, I'll resubmit that to them, and then it should finish processing there. I recommend doing it that way if possible, because they've already accepted your other books under the Bad Girls ghost name we set up, which gives you some branding footage.
The book is available for sale on Smashwords in the meantime; it just isn't associated with your specific pen names yet. And it's already been accepted on Amazon and several other sites.
Speaking of unsavory...say what you will about Fiction4All, but that's where your first sale just came from. :-)

Just putting this out there: what does everyone think of having an official website? 🤔

I'll never say no to more advertising. If we could create individual pages and links to our own websites, I think that would be awesome. That said, I'm sure a good website would cost and I'd like to know what my monthly/yearly fee would be. If we split the cost, it might not be that bad. Most importantly, the site's existence would be contingent on us continuing to put out more collections.

Its not a bad suggestion, but to chime in with others this hasn't been successful enough to warrant the expense and effort. Then we get into the drama of who designs it, who maintains it what's the basic rules so one person isn't trying to grand stand another. Does it have a shopping cart? if it does who is handling that money and the pay out.
In my opinion at this point in time its an unjustified expense and a headache waiting to happen.
That's not to say things may not change in a few months, but for now my answer is no.
Edited because I meant to say it wasn't a bad suggestion, but I put it wasn't a good one, that's what I get for posting before coffee.

The last two books did not go over well. I think we've all been doing this long enough to know there could be a dozen reasons why. Readers are a fickle bunch and anything can turn them off, cover, blurbs, story descriptions, something in an excerpt, a friggin title, the time it was released etc...
Personally I think the price is prohibitive, but I'm not saying to lower it, we're making squat per sale as it is. I'm just pointing out $6.99 in my eyes is a lot for a digital book in the eyes of a cheap fan base and at that price the thought someone might say "I want them all" is slim.
But the price has to stay where it is and the other things I mentioned are all crap shoots and maybe there's other reasons I didn't cover.
But thinking on it, I think its about genre. Romance is big, but you need to be a romance author with that following. Most of us are not romance authors, we're more along the lines of smut authors who at times write a few off the wall niche plots within our genres.
None of us are truly Lesbian authors either and that's another niche where people find authors they like and stick with them
Our first two did better. Taboo is a good genre, but its limited to where it can go, even that didn't sell that well on SW(Price for sure there with their boasting on the home page of their 80k free books that I wish the idiot running the place would ditch)
Milftacular seems to have sold best as Milf is a very popular genre and can be sold everywhere including sites that aren't as cheap as the SW crowd.
I would like to ask if anyone else is willing to put that theory to the test and the next book be Milftacular 2?

Laura, you read my mind!
(which is not all that difficult, but still.)
I think the issues with sales can be directly tied to genre. It seems that our readers, bless them, really like the taboo and MILF themes. Time will tell with "My Naughty Valentine," but so far the response has been underwhelming. And I have noticed that even with my own sales, lesbian erotica does not sell nearly so well as some other stuff.
So I am all in for another MILF story, or perhaps another taboo anthology.
